On the subject of Lent

So today's the first day of Lent.  Some part of me is tempted to try the "let's see if I can pull off a medieval fast for lent, just to see if I can".  Unfortunately, that part of me is being overwhelmed by the other side of me that says "you barely cook now and you don't eat vegetables, and you haven't prepared for this at all... you'd starve".

Must fix the veggie thing so I can try this next year...

On that note, I had a rather unfortunate failure of cooking last night (I believe I used the incorrect Japanese cooking wine) and have no desire to subsist on the leftovers from it, and thought I'd see if you two might be interested in obtaining grub later.
Perhaps the Moes?
Or there is the even less christian idea of going to get a gyro.

I'm prety sure that gyros are Greek, which would not be Islamic, but it would be Orthodox.

Heh, well, not this particular gyro place, I don't think - ever been to the one next to the Harris Teeter on 54 near my place? it's tasty.

They're both, I tend to associate them more with Turkish food (or Lebanese in this case... as I think thats tne nationality of the resturant I was proposing).

I was thinking today of whether I wanted to observe lent, and observing it in a medieval sense sounds more interesting. However, I think Lent is as much about focusing on God as it is about sacrificing something, and so I'm not prepared. aybe next year...
