As for a male persona, I have no problems with women using male personas, other than most of the women who do are so pretty and feminine they aren't believeable. I know of only one woman who managed it believeably because she was tall, thin, had no breasts and had a deepish voice. She always seemed like a 15 or 16 year old boy who wasn't shaving yet. But if it makes you happy to do so, then do so.
