A really belated experiment...

So as you may or may not know/remember,
duchesspadr ran a Silent Auction to benefit my Barony @ Ymir. I started an apron to donate, and got, oh, 90% done before the event. However, cooking the feast and getting the flu the week before prevented me from finishing it.
Well, I found it the other day, and finished it. But since it was started as a donation, I just don't feel right wearing it. Call it silly, but I'd feel guilty every time I wore it.
So... that's where this post comes in. I looked at my friends list, and there's a few hundred of you - so I figure surely someone might be interested in it. And LJ is as good a place to do a silent auction as anywhere, I suppose. Of course, anything I get from this will go straight to the Barony, I'm not making a penny off of it.
So... what I'm trying to auction here is a pleatwork-embroidered apron. It's similar to those found here - http://www.pleatworkembroidery.com/papers/apronresearchpaper.doc - this is NOT my research, but was what I used to construct the apron (the whole site is a fabulous resource, actually, if you're interested in that sort of thing). It's fairly nice linen, not terribly slubby, and is completely handsewn with white linen thread. There's about a 6 inch band of honeycomb pleating at the top, and the hem is in hemstitch (with open squares). There are aprons like this in the Luttrell Psalter, and apparently on lots of later period (German?) stuff too (not my thing, but yeah).
Anyway, pictures!

Let me know if you have questions. Bidding starts at $20, and will go through... hrm, next Friday @ 5.
