On the subject of Lent

So today's the first day of Lent.  Some part of me is tempted to try the "let's see if I can pull off a medieval fast for lent, just to see if I can".  Unfortunately, that part of me is being overwhelmed by the other side of me that says "you barely cook now and you don't eat vegetables, and you haven't prepared for this at all... you'd starve".

Must fix the veggie thing so I can try this next year...

I was thinking today of whether I wanted to observe lent, and observing it in a medieval sense sounds more interesting. However, I think Lent is as much about focusing on God as it is about sacrificing something, and so I'm not prepared. aybe next year...
